the pittsburgh of the east

The aroma was distracting, you'd say compelling. 'Come on,' said the Professor, whose condition, over the preceeding year, had progressed from simple tropism to advanced pizzamania, 'let's perhaps grab a slice, what do you say?' (Against the Day, 232)

We're moving to New Haven in June.

I've been a regular visitor to that city - Aaron Whyte-Reiss used to live there - and in recent years I've come think that it's true, it is "a city not unlike Pittsburgh in that it is studded with a large university, old money, failing 19th century industries and a thriving grass roots arts scene." Quote from Pittsburgh Dish, who would know.

But the pizza is way, way, better. I'm excited.

Well, I think congratulations are in order! It's nice to know where home is when it's not yet home. All the best to you and your folk.

Thanks, Sarah.

Emotional mood swings to ensue. We've started having wistful Pittsburgh feelings already.

Wow, that's soon. Pittsburgh does tend to grab at you a bit? I've heard of this pizza of which you speak. Good omen, pizza.

Looks like there's one CSA in New Haven county- with 86 shares.

Doesn't seem like enough for a University city.

I got a very mysterious message when I emailed them. I'll pursue it though. Do you know of any New Haven based food blogs, Lindy? Anyone?

New Haven is flat, and while that has benefits for street life, on a purely physical level (so to speak) its so much less stunning than Pittsburgh.

Found one such blogger- an "archivist" in New Haven, blogging since the summer of 2005,
at least at:

http://www.mrsdelicious.blogspot.com/

tagline :
"Practicing mostly uncontrolled eating since 1975"
Could be good.

Wow. You're the best, Lindy. This does look exciting. You know I'm a deep down library lover? Oh yes.
